Few Loose Strings

February 8, 2010

So, this week I have to tie up a few loose strings….You know, like the employment letter that I am praying 3rd time is a charm rule applies, correcting 2 notaries on letters, sending over my new copy of birth certificates. For the most part, WE ARE DONE!!! We have had our homestudy, we have had our CIS appointment, we have turned in all our documents (with a few minor corrections). We are thinking probably 6 weeks to wait list! Praying for 6. Then it’s the waiting game all over again! BRING IT ON!

Wellsy Boy

February 5, 2010

He’s my baby for now. He’s creative. He’s snugglie. He always has a dirty face. His shoes are never tied. He has a HUGE heart. He kind of knows it all. He is quirky. He is kind. He is a slob. He could live on only carbs. He never has a clean room for long. He can play for hours by himself. He will need a secretary when he gets older. He practices reading books for his little sister. He is going to be an amazing big brother. We love him.

Sweet Sosi

February 1, 2010

For those of you who have ever uttered the words “I think adoption is great, I’m just not sure I could do it” (or something along those lines)……You should hear this girls story!!!! It has changed our hearts, and all of those around us.  We love you Sosi Elle, and we thank God for you!

Ethiopia Bound

January 16, 2010

Just dropped my sister and brother-in-law off at the airport to pick up their little girl! Can’t believe next week we will finally meet Sosi Elle. We’ve loved and longed for her for so long, it’s hard to get a grip on emotions. Hard to imagine the day when our roles are reversed, and their dropping us off.

Be Inspired!!!

January 13, 2010

Check out these super cute t’s my sweet sister-in-law made!!! She is traveling this Saturday to pick up her Ethiopian Princess (check out ruschfamily.com )!!!!! The back has a small globe and the words 147 million orphans. Hope by wearing these t’s we can raise awareness and support for adoption. Of course, I had a little one made for the day we bring our little one home…..making it 147 minus 1.

My girl!

January 12, 2010

This is our girl. She loves to dance, and does so with grace. She loves to race, and beat the boys. She loves to fish. She burps like a man. She loves animals. She likes to boss her brothers (and they usually listen). She can be very stubborn. She loves little ones. She laughs a lot. She makes us laugh a lot. She loves to snuggle. She wants a sister. She studies when she doesn’t have to. She has very dry skin. You can always tell when she is angry, her eyes give it away. She has her Daddy wrapped around her pinky. She rocks our world in a good way. I love her.

Two Steps Forward, One Step Back

December 30, 2009

So, today Josh and I have to go and get fingerprinted for our FBI clearance.  Get 2 passport photos taken. Mail off our contract to KBS for our dossier service. Get a TB test. Mail off our Arkansas and DHS forms.   Somewhere in all of this I have to take our Christmas down, and start to return our house back to normal to get ready for our homestudy.  Did I just say “homestudy”? I have to admit those words make this whole process seem soooo real!  I couldn’t be more excited…..

Hopefully by the end of next week (January 8th), Josh and I will be done (for a little while) and will just be waiting on the stuff that is out of our hands….homestudy, fbi, cis. Trusting God’s perfect timing in all of this and for His hand to guide us through this process…..as we get closer and closer our little girl!

Making a list and checking it twice…..

December 17, 2009

Well, we sent our first big packet of info out this week. Oh My!!! I never dreamed that this would be so intense. I have notebooks and papers everywhere. I was told by a wise fellow adoptive parent that it helps to make your stuff cute and that would help get organized…hmmmm, not working so far. But, we are slowly but steadily plugging through! So very excited with each document we complete!
